Priest's Retreat in Mayaro

Priests on retreatLast Monday, on the feast of St Thérèse of Lisieux, Archbishop Joseph Harris, for the first time as head of the local Church, joined a number of priests working in the archdiocese for an annual priests' retreat.
Some 40 priests, comprising diocesan and members of religious communities, gathered in Mayaro for the three-day retreat, which was arranged by Vicar for Priests Fr Clyde Harvey and the Personnel Board and the Council of Vicars. The Year of Faith, to be launched in our archdiocese on October 14, formed the backdrop of the retreat.
The themes "The Truth of Faith", "Joy of Faith" and "Faith as Cross and Resurrection" informed the reflections, led by Frs Martin Sirju, Ian Taylor and Hugh Joyeau.
Archbishop Harris was chief celebrant at the Mass which closed the retreat last Thursday.
